Recently, I have had several requests to clean the windows of homes that have a swimming pool because the cleaner is spraying water all over and hitting the windows near the pool. There are a couple things you can do to keep the pool cleaner from spraying the windows. The tail whips out of the water as the cleaner descends. Here are two relatively easy and effective things you can do to stop this from happening.

1. Add another sponge to the tail. It will most likely look like there isn't room, but you can generally squeeze another one on. This extra sponge adds just a little more weight, but more importantly, more friction. The tail will not come out of the water as easily.
2. Turn down the pressure of the water forced through the tail. Turning this pressure down will decrease the movement of the tail and therefore decrease the amount of "whipping" that occurs when the cleaner approaches the surface of the water. The pressure can be turned down by turning a screw. Check your manual for the exact location, but many times it is located near the tail.
