5 Errors Homeowners Make When Choosing a Window Cleaning Company

1. They choose someone who is not in business. In search of the cheapest price they can find, they choose an individual who cleans windows but is not a professional window cleaning. Being in business requires overhead; those not in business with a profit motive cannot survive. A quick way to check is to ask for a copy of their Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit.

2. They choose someone who is not bonded or insured. No matter how much training someone goes through, accidents do happen. If a window is scratched or broken, or something from your home is missing, what is your recourse?

3. They choose someone who uses independent contractors and not employees. Who is showing up to your home? Have they been trained? Have background checks been performed on them? If they are independent contractors, they are not covered by the company's insurance or bonding; they have to carry their own.

4. They choose someone who gives them a quote over the phone. Ther is no way you can adequately describe the windows of your home for someone to give you a realistic quote. If they won't come out to your home to look at your house, look elsewhere.

5. They choose someone strictly on price ignoring the above guidelines. Bottom line - you get what you pay for.
